This movie won an academy
award for having the best sound back in 2000. And they got it right,
this movie's sound was incredible. The scene I did didn't have any
talking in it and barely any music but since the effects were mixed
so well, it kept you in the scene. One big part of this scene was the
crowd and their reaction to what was happening in the fight. I
believe the mix for the crowd alone could have won an award but to
have the sound effect mixed in with that was incredible. The use of
the tiger sounds, attacking, and getting stabbed, were both
phenomenal. The whole scene was a fight scene which means there was a
lot of swords clanking, stabbing, hitting, armor getting used,
shields getting used etc. All of the sound were in there, and all at
audible levels. I didn't think anything was too loud or too soft. For
how short this scene is, there was a lot of little clanks and chimes
that went into this intricate fight scene, even though it may not
seem that way. I can see why the academy gave this the award for best
mixing.
