I chose this track because it was mastered by the same engineer that did Nicki Minaj’s “Starships.” I think there is a stark contrast between the two songs. They are different styles, different genres. This song is a lot more laid back, very chill. It doesn’t have nearly as much going on, especially on the effects end. I think the overall quality of this song is pretty good. The instruments all have their place, and are recognizable right away as opposed to “Starships”, where I needed to listen a lot closer to distinguish the different sounds.
Interesting - probably because there are different producers and mixing engineers, that the song is so different. But this is why I make you all do this - compare a mastering engineer, producer, etc. It's interesting to see if you can hear what they bring to the work.
