This track, off of Dustin Kensrue’s first solo album, is one of my absolute favorite songs. The levels of the instruments are all pretty soft during the verses and then come in stronger during the chorus. There are points where it seems like the bass and drums might drop out altogether. The focus of the song is definitely the vocals and the acoustic guitar, which is a beautiful departure from Kensrue’s main band, Thrice. It all has a stripped-down, live feeling to it.
