Each instrument can clearly be heard in the mix, and the vocals don't overpower the instruments. It is good to hear music where the emphasis isn't always vocals. The levels of the instruments work well with each other, and nothing sounds like it is being overpowered by another element of the music. There are very little effects in the song, mainly coming from the vocals, leaving the instruments with a very natural sound. It's very folksy. Acoustic music like this should sound natural, and I think the mix is just right for what this song is. Anthony Green's style is quite different from Good Old War's personal style, and I think that their take on his song came through very nicely in the mix.
This track had two producers: Anthony Green and Joseph Dell'Aquila. Green is also a producer on Circa Survive's albums "Violent Waves" and "Appendage EP. This was mixed at Exeter Recording studios in Freehold, NJ by Joseph Dell'Aquila. Dell’Aquila has worked with bands such as Backslashes and Bad Ideas as well as Relic.
