This scene was done in cutaways. There was alot of cuts back and forth between dialogue and what was happening outside of the courtroom. To achieve a natural and believable sound-scape a lot of layering and fading was done. Also to keep the tension music was played throughout with the voices dubbed overtop of it however at times of greater tension the level of the music and sounds increase. However the level of the music increases more. The sound effects were pretty straight foward given the scene and I would imagine that most of the sounds were real footsteps and real chatter that was recorded either on or off location.

Skyfall-Sound Works
After watching the interview with the Sound mixers and other tech the application of sound becomes clear. Scott Millan claims that sound is intended to support the story however you may not hear a sound for everything in the scene. Rather each scene can be style choice on what will advance the story. Also sound in this case helped to re-enforce what was to be focused on in each segment wwithout being distracted by extra sounds. Karen Baker says that each sound or absence of sound is completely intentional. All of the locations that were used in the movie helped to create a very complex soundscape as well as musical selection. The musical score played one of the largest parts in the film. This creates the drama as well as helped to re-enforce the sounds effects without taking away from each other. Sound also creates vast emotion for this film and drives the viewer. Specific transitional waves were used to drive scenes of immense action to calm ones while still creating a steady segue. All of the music was also original for this film.
